Northwest
Territories Spot n Stock Black Bear
We have a new location along the Mackenzie highways. Baiting is
currently prohibited in the NWT and hunting of bears is minimal.
Most of the bears
are taken after midnight as it never really gets dark at this
time of year. The Mackenzie River crossing closes at midnight
and we cruise the highway, cut lines, quarries and glass open
areas and lakes trying for a stalking situation.
Six day hunt, all
inclusive from Yellowknife $2500.00
License/Tag $50.00
Trophy fee $100.00
Mondays to Saturdays
from the end of May to the middle of June.

There's
always plenty of action during these hunts! This is a "spot &
stalk" hunt so you're always on the move. You'll see plenty of
different critters - moose, caribou, grizzlies, bald eagles, beavers, but
most of all, black bears, and lots of them! During the 2003 spring season
they had 25 guests who took 35 bears, 12 of which were color phase Some of
the guests counted close to 100 bears during one ten day period in the
spring of 2002. If you want big bears, beautiful scenery, rugged
wilderness and a real "mountain" experience, this is the hunt
for you!

Columbia Spot & Stalk Our
Black bears are hunted both in the spring and in conduction with our main
species in the fall.
Our Black Bear hunts are conducted from the main camp, which lies approx.
5500 feet above sea level, and spring can be sometimes late. Therefore we
only hunt our Bears at our prime time, from May 20th to June 5th when
hunting is at its best and our slopes and meadows are slowly starting to
green up.
Your chances of harvesting a great trophy are excellent since local
hunting pressure in minimal and food is abundant throughout the area.
There is a 40-50% chance to harvest a color-phased blond to chocolate
brown Bears. Bears taken in our area range from 5 1/2 to 7' measured from
nose to tail.
This is a fair chase hunt using spot & stalk technique. The option to
use hounds is also available for those looking for a different
adrenaline-charged hunt
